What is Kettlebourne about?

The Beginning
Most clothing today contains plastic — and once it’s made, it never truly disappears. Started in Southeastern Wisconsin, Kettlebourne began with a simple vision: clothing that celebrates the beauty of nature. Inspired by picturesque landscapes, waves in motion, and birds in flight, our founder’s idea grew from an appreciation of nature’s beauty into a commitment to protect it.

And So It Began
We realized that beauty isn’t just something to print on fabric — it should be woven into the very fibers. That’s why every thread we use begins in nature: cotton, bamboo, wool, and other natural materials. No plastic. Ever.

Breaking the Chain
Each year, about 92 million tons of clothing are discarded worldwide — 17 million tons in the U.S. alone. Most of it ends up in landfills, never to serve a purpose again. We’re here to change that.

Designing for the end—pilot in development

We’re building a take-back pilot for well-worn Kettlebourne pieces so they can be processed responsibly at end-of-life. We’ll publish accepted materials and processing conditions (home vs. industrial) before opening returns.

Our Mission

To craft sustainable apparel for the trailblazers, the wanderers, and the Earth-lovers—people who move through the world with purpose and care. Using natural materials and circular design, we create garments built to roam freely and return gently to the Earth. Our mission is to transform clothing into a full-circle experience—where every piece begins with integrity, journeys with you, and ends with honor.

Our Value

To create a world where clothing heals, not harms—where every garment returns to the Earth and leaves no trace behind.
